DISTANCE CRITERIA

Plain Area

A village which has no government or private school (level and gender based), within the radius of 2 KM. The Distance will be measured from the center of the village. The center of the village will be determined by the District Program Officer of ESEF in consultation with the secretary village council/union council & the local community in a Broad-Based Community Meeting.

The private school(s) will be established at a minimum walking distance of 1.5 KM from the government school (level and gender based).

Hilly Area

A village which has no government or private school (level and gender based), within the radius of 1.5 KM. The Distance will be measured from the center of the village. The center of the village will be determined by the District Program Officer of ESEF in consultation with the secretary village council/union council & the local community in a Broad-Based Community Meeting.

The private school(s) will be established at a minimum distance of 1 KM from the government school (level and gender based).

Once selection is finalized, no other school under this initiative will be established at least at the radius of 2 KM.

SCHOOL INFRASTRUCTURE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Primary school criteria:

1. 3-5 rooms required for primary subject to 1:40 class/student ratio for each class/grade.
2. The school will be bound to submit ‘School Improvement Plan (SIP)’ on surety bond. Quarterly payment will be subject to Implementation of SIP from the Foundation.
3. The rooms are furnished with furniture, doors and windows.
4. Electricity and drinking facilities are provided.
5. Computer with accessories and internet facility are available.
6. Wash rooms.
7. At least 5 teachers
8. Security clearance from local police station

Middle school criteria:

1. At least 03 rooms (in addition to 03-05 rooms for primary subject to 1:40 class/student ratio for each class of primary only, if enlisted for primary also)
2. The school will be bound to submit ‘School Improvement Plan (SIP)’ on surety bond. Quarterly payment will be subject to Implementation of SIP from the Foundation.
3. The rooms are furnished with doors, windows and furniture.
4. Electricity and drinking facility are provided.
5. Computer with accessories and internet facility are available
6. Wash rooms.
7. At least 4 teachers covering all major subjects
8. Security clearance from local police station

High school criteria:

1. At least 02 rooms (in addition to at least 03 rooms for middle and 3-5 rooms required for primary subject to 1:40 class/student ratio for each class of primary only, if enlisted for primary and middle or any level amongst it)
2. The school will be bound to submit ‘School Improvement Plan (SIP)’ on surety bond. Quarterly payment will be subject to Implementation of SIP from the Foundation.
3. The rooms are furnished with doors, windows and furniture.
4. Electricity and drinking facility are provided.
5. Computer with accessories and internet facility are available
6. Library, Science Lab & Computer lab (If applicable)
7. Wash rooms.
8. At least 5 teachers covering all science subjects, English & others.
9. Security clearance from local police station

Higher Secondary school criteria:

1. At least 02 rooms (in addition to at least 02 rooms for High, at least 03 rooms for middle and 3-5 rooms required for primary subject to 1:40 class/student ratio for each class of primary only, if enlisted for primary, middle & high or any one amongst it)
2. The school will be bound to submit ‘school improvement plan (SIP)’ on surety bond. Quarterly payment will be subject to Implementation of SIP from the Foundation.
3. The rooms are furnished with doors, windows and furniture.
4. Electricity and drinking facility are provided.
5. Computer with accessories and internet facility are available
6. Library, 3 Science Labs (Bio, Che, Phy) & Computer lab (If applicable)
7. Wash rooms.
8. At least 3 teachers.
9. Security clearance from local police station
